MEDIA PARTNER SPOTLIGHT

The Trading Floor Prophets (TFP Group)

As Blockchain Campus Ignition: UWC Edition approaches, SM Web Systems is proud to welcome The Trading Floor Prophets (TFP Group) as media partner for the day. Cape Town-based and Africa-focused, TFP will be on the ground capturing, producing, and amplifying everything that happens at UWC — turning a single-day activation into a lasting body of content for the wider ecosystem.

TFP's Role at the Event

TFP will lead full media coverage across the summit, including:

  • Live event coverage — real-time photo and video capture across the main hall and break-away sessions, from panel discussions to hackathon showcases.
  • Promotional video content — short-form recap and highlight reels for use across social platforms, designed to extend the event's reach well beyond the students in the room.
  • Podcast episodes — sit-down conversations with confirmed speakers and founders, unpacking the insights and announcements from the day for TFP's wider audience.
  • Audience engagement — on-the-ground social activation, capturing student reactions, ambassador moments, and the energy of the day as it happens.

The goal is simple: make sure the ideas, founders, and momentum generated at UWC don't stay in the room — they travel.

Who We Are

TFP Group's story didn't start in blockchain. It started with a paradox familiar to almost every graduate: you need experience to get a job, and a job to get experience.

That problem led TFP's founders to build an AI-driven platform at the University of Cape Town, matching students with real job experience. It worked — over 100 verified students signed up. But it also became too expensive to sustain.

Around that time, one of TFP's co-founders joined Ben Blaine's mentorship programme, working alongside Carl Van Wyk at MoneyBadger. That relationship shifted the trajectory entirely — from a student marketplace to blockchain and digital asset intelligence. From interviews, to media, to agentic AI. What followed was a partnership with Bitcoin Events, and the beginning of TFP Group as it operates today: Africa's institutional financial media voice.

The Problem

Africa's digital finance ecosystem is expanding rapidly, but market intelligence remains fragmented, ecosystem players are poorly connected, and innovative companies struggle to gain visibility. This creates barriers to investment, market entry, and industry growth — leaving investors, institutions, regulators, and innovators without the trusted insights needed to participate with confidence.

The Solution

TFP Group is a digital finance infrastructure platform driven by intelligence. We help the world's leading digital finance organisations understand, enter, and grow across African markets through trusted market intelligence, original research, executive interviews, podcasts, case studies, and high-quality visual storytelling.

We connect founders, investors, financial institutions, regulators, and innovators — making digital finance more visible, credible, and accessible across the continent.

Who We've Featured

TFP's channel has hosted representatives from some of the most influential names in African and global digital finance, including:

  • IDATCO
  • Binance
  • Forvis Mazars
  • MoneyBadger
  • ABSA
  • FirstRand

Real Knowledge. Real Insight. Real Impact.

At Blockchain Campus Ignition: UWC Edition, TFP Group brings that same mission to campus — helping students see themselves not just as an audience for Africa's digital finance growth story, but as its next generation of builders, founders, and voices.
