Sanelisiwe Simatu
Software Engineer · Chain Reaction Ambassador · WeThinkCode_ Alumni
Sanelisiwe is an early-career software engineer passionate about building high-performance, reliable, and scalable systems — with hands-on experience in Python, event-driven architectures, real-time data processing, and decentralised application development on Solana and Ethereum.
About Sanelisiwe
Sanelisiwe is currently building a low-latency trading simulation engine from the ground up — using Python, Apache Kafka for event streaming, Redis for in-memory order book management, PostgreSQL for trade logging, and FastAPI with WebSockets and a React dashboard. The project covers market data ingestion, plug-and-play trading strategies, simulated order execution with latency modelling, real-time PnL tracking, and backtesting capabilities.
Prior to this she built decentralised applications on Solana and Ethereum and developed automation tools for data analysis — gaining strong problem-solving and systems design skills through project-based learning at WeThinkCode_, where she studied Software Engineering (2024–2025).
Outside of her engineering work, Sanelisiwe serves as a ChainReaction Ambassador — driving community engagement, producing educational content on blockchain concepts, and supporting developer onboarding across the Web3 ecosystem. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Debrecen University (2018–2021), bringing an analytical and systems-level perspective to software problems.
Focus Areas
- High-performance systems — Python, event-driven architecture, real-time data
- Decentralised application development — Solana, Ethereum, Rust
- Trading infrastructure — Kafka, Redis, FastAPI, WebSockets
- Web3 community education & ecosystem growth
How Sanelisiwe Works With You
- Builds performance-critical backend systems from first principles — her trading simulation engine demonstrates hands-on mastery of streaming pipelines, in-memory state management, and real-time data flows at the component level.
- Brings practical Web3 depth from both sides: production dApp development on Solana and Ethereum, and ecosystem-level perspective gained as a ChainReaction Ambassador bridging developers and the broader community.
- Approaches software with the rigour of an engineer who studied Chemical Engineering — structured thinking, quantitative reasoning, and an instinct for where systems fail under load.
